Faculty

The MSLC brings together three instructors whose experience reflects the range of responsibilities Montessori leaders carry.

Karen Bennetts has served as a Montessori teacher, principal, board director, consultant, and researcher. She holds a PhD in Montessori Leadership and brings more than 20 years of governance experience to the course.

Nancy Coronado has worked as a Montessori guide, adolescent program director, interim head of school, consultant, and AMI Leadership Course Trainer. Her work focuses on equity and belonging within Montessori communities.

Samantha Streak founded The Port Elizabeth Montessori School in South Africa in 1995 and continues to serve as its head. She is a former president of the South African Montessori Association and has represented Montessori education from Southern Africa in international settings.

Their combined experience allows participants to study leadership from several angles: the needs of children and adults, the culture of a school, the responsibilities of governance, and the long work of sustaining a Montessori community.
