Job Description: Founding Montessori Lead Guide

Kindling Academy is seeking an exceptional Montessori educator to join our founding team in Austin.

Our first year will include one intentionally small, mixed-age classroom for children ages 4–8, supported by a Lead Guide and an assistant.

As our Founding Lead Guide, you’ll create a calm, beautiful learning environment, provide individualized lessons, build meaningful relationships with families, and help shape the culture and systems of a new school.

Our approach blends Montessori foundations with project-based learning, creative exploration, and outdoor education. This is an opportunity for an experienced educator to have meaningful ownership, contribute ideas, and help build something special from the beginning.

Location: Austin, TexasCompensation: $80,000 + benefits

Requirements: - At least three years of teaching experience
- Montessori training or substantial Montessori classroom experience
- Strong judgment and classroom-management skills
- Experience supporting individualized learning
- Warmth, patience, initiative, and emotional intelligence
- Strong communication and family-engagement skills
- Ability to collaborate closely with an assistant and founding team
- Comfort working in an evolving, founding-stage environment
- Ability to work in person in Austin, Texas
-Experience with mixed-age classrooms, project-based learning, progressive education, or learner-centered environments is highly valued.
