[This section should be rewritten to reflect the six-month Practitioner Course rather than the introductory two-day workshop. It would be helpful to clarify that this is, something like… ‘a more in-depth professional learning experience with ongoing coursework, application, reflection, and/or guided practice’— the ones which do apply from the list.]
We’re excited to partner with Brush Development to offer Montessori for Dementia, Disability, and Aging.
[Could you add a short overview here of what the six-month Practitioner Course is and who it is mainly for? It would help to clarify:
• whether it is online, blended, or in person
• how the course is paced over the six months
• how this is different from the two-day workshop
• whether participants will be doing work between sessions
• whether there is discussion, mentoring, assignments, implementation work, or a final project]
This in-depth AMI certificate course offers an innovative, person-centered approach that transforms dementia care. By creating thoughtfully prepared environments with memory supports and meaningful activities, this approach empowers individuals to care for themselves, connect with others, and actively participate in their community.
How This Builds on the Two-Day Workshop
[Would you write a short section here explaining how this course builds on the two-day workshop. Ideally, it would help visitors understand that the two-day workshop is the best starting point for people new to Montessori for Dementia, Disability, and Aging, while the six-month Practitioner Course is the next step for people ready for deeper study and implementation. We want to clarify whether the workshop is required, strongly recommended, or simply helpful preparation.]
Enhancing Quality of Life
[This can probably stay close to the original idea, but it should sound more like the deeper course. Maybe speaking to what participants will learn to put into practice over time?]
This approach focuses on what people can do. Activities, routines, and roles are tailored to each person, giving them purpose, meaning, and moments of joy every day.
What You’ll Learn
[Would you revise this list so it reflects the full six-month course instead of a two-day introduction? It would be helpful to name the main topics or skills participants will work through. Or perhaps units of study]
In this six-month Practitioner Course, participants will:
[Bullets updated with correct course outcomes. Especially helpful/ideas… observation, implementation, prepared environments, communication, activity design, leadership, culture change, case studies, or applied practice…]
Explore person-centered care and Montessori community principles
Understand dementia-related disease processes
Learn how memory works and how to use cues, prompts, and templates
Design meaningful activities that enhance well-being
Practice communication techniques for people living with dementia
Create prepared environments and actionable strategies to foster culture change
Who Should Attend
[Could you clarify who this course is best suited for? For example, is it for people already working with elders, care teams, activity professionals, administrators, Montessori educators, family caregivers, or people who completed the two-day workshop and want to go deeper?]
(The workshop says this: Caregivers, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and anyone supporting or engaging with older adults who want practical tools to enrich elders’ lives.)
What You Will Earn
[Please add the exact credential or certificate participants receive after successful completion, plus any requirements they need to meet to earn it.]
