We’re excited to partner with Brush Development to offer a two-day certificate workshop in Montessori for Dementia, Disability, and Aging. This short AMI certificate course offers an innovative, person-centered approach that transforms dementia care. By creating thoughtfully prepared environments with memory supports and meaningful activities, this approach empowers individuals to care for themselves, connect with others, and actively participate in their community.
Enhancing Quality of Life
This approach focuses on what people can do. Activities, routines, and roles are tailored to each person, giving them purpose, meaning, and moments of joy every day.
What You’ll Learn
In this two-day workshop, participants will:
Explore person-centered care and Montessori community principles
Understand dementia-related disease processes
Learn how memory works and how to use cues, prompts, and templates
Design meaningful activities that enhance well-being
Practice communication techniques for people living with dementia
Create prepared environments and actionable strategies to foster culture change
Who Should Attend
Caregivers, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and anyone supporting or engaging with older adults who want practical tools to enrich elders’ lives.
[Suggestion? A comparison to the longer Practitioner Course. “This two-day workshop is an ideal starting point for those new to Montessori for Dementia, Disability, and Aging. Participants who wish to continue into deeper study may also consider the six-month Practitioner Course.”]

[Would you explain briefly how the two-day workshop and the six-month Practitioner Course connect? It would help people understand whether the workshop is the best place to start, and how the Practitioner Course builds on it for people who want to go further. Perhaps an invitation to go on to the PC afterwards.]
