Position Title: Lead Montessori Teacher (ages 4 to 7)

Job Description: Apogee North Texas is hiring a lead Montessori teacher for a classroom of up to 18 students, ages 4 to 7, beginning August 2026.

We’re a hybrid home-school in Flower Mound. Students attend campus Tuesday through Thursday and learn at home with their families on Mondays and Fridays. Campus mornings are dedicated to core academics in reading, writing, and math. Afternoons are built around hands-on projects, life skills, and physical activity.

We teach in mixed-age groups rather than grade levels. Students advance by demonstrating mastery, and progress is documented in portfolios and presented at public showcases. Our mission is grounded in faith, family, and country, and academic rigor and personal responsibility sit at the center of the school day.

The classroom comes stocked with Montessori works and supplies. Teachers are welcome to bring their own materials, though it isn’t required.

Responsibilities

Lead morning academics (reading, writing, math) for a mixed-age classroom of up to 18 students
Plan and run afternoon hands-on projects, life skills, and physical activity
Track student progress through mastery and portfolio work
Help students prepare for public showcases where they present finished work to parents
Communicate regularly with families
Attend a 1-hour weekly staff planning session
Qualifications

Montessori certification (strongly preferred)
3 to 4 years of Montessori classroom experience accepted in lieu of certification
Prior experience in a Montessori or project-based classroom (required)
First aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required)
The right candidate holds high academic expectations for young children, gives students real responsibility for their own work, and is comfortable letting a child work through difficulty before stepping in.

Job type: Contract, 10 months (August through May)

Pay: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience

Expected hours: 22 per week guaranteed, with additional hours available based on school needs
