Job Description: 

Job Purpose: 
To support the Primary Guide in helping the children grow intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually by modeling respect for all forms of life and creating a culture of peace. The expectation is to demonstrate an attitude of service and contribute to a cooperative atmosphere within the whole school community by living a Christ-like spirit. 

Responsibilities: 
Ensure that the classroom environment is prepared before students arrive and restored at the end of the day. 
Work with the Guide to prepare and maintain an orderly, attractive, and joyful environment. 
Keep classroom material stocked, clean, and in good order. 
Observe the students and share observations with Guide. Be alert and attentive to the day-to-day happenings in the classroom. 
Model grace and courtesy. Show respect to all. 
Assist in the development of independence. Trust that the children are able to do things by themselves. 
Assist children with physical needs such as toileting, dirty or wet clothing, or minor injuries. 
Do the laundry. 
Load and unload dishwasher daily. 
Assist with naptime (if applicable). 
Maintain the classroom pets. 
Prepare snack or assist students in preparation of snack. 
Participate in recommended training programs or educational conferences that pertain to professional growth. 
Direct any parent questions to the Primary Guide. 
Participate in school activities. 
Help make materials for the environment. 
Make safety a priority. 
Believe in, communicate, and support the mission of the school.
