History of MINT
After many years of discussion, a group of dedicated individuals established the Montessori Training and Research Center of Dallas (MTRCD). The organization incorporated in February 2003. Directors of Training were employed and the first course for Elementary teachers began in summer of 2004. The second and third courses began in the summer of 2005, to prepare teachers for pregnancy-3 years and 3-6 years.
In 2010, the Board of MTRCD voted to do business as the Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT). Appropriate papers were filed with the Secretary of State.
MINT is in its third cycle of three-summer training for both Primary and Elementary. MINT's first academic year Elementary course began in September 2012 and the first academic year Primary course begins in September 2013.
MINT has a new home in the Galleria district of Dallas. A spacious and conveniently located facility provides a model classroom, lecture accommodations, offices and work spaces, an area for student interactions, and opportunity for professional presentations for area Montessorians.
