Classroom Management in the Montessori Elementary
with Evie Dorsey and Sally Dorn
(For MINT Elementary Graduates)
Please join us at MINT on Saturday, November 8, for a discussion on “Classroom Management in the Montessori Elementary.”
Elementary classrooms are full of beautiful materials for the mastery of academic skills and concepts. But where are the materials for emotional and social development? We do have them – they are the opportunities that present themselves every day in the form of conflicts, hurt feelings, and disruptive behavior.
At this age, work on the developing social order is every bit as important as academic work. We must give children the tools and guidance that will help them solve social problems, relate to others peacefully, and engage in constructive work as members of the community.
Facilitated by long-time AMI Elementary guides Evie Dorsey and Sally Dorn, this workshop will be an opportunity to discuss approaches and techniques that are critical to children’s success in the classroom.
Our community is rich in experience, so bring your questions and your answers, too. We’ll support each other by sharing successes and failures, and we’ll take home new ideas that will benefit the children in our classrooms!
Registration is $20, payable by PayPal or at the door by check or cash.
Out-of-towners who would like to help test our new webinar capability should contact MINT at 214-503-6802. A limited number of on-line participants can be accommodated.
